Enjoy a unique mix of big and small. A visit to Madurodam isn't just surprising; you can also experience so much! Combine it with Panorama Mesdag.
Madurodam and Panorama Mesdag
Departure from your pick-up location. The coach will take you directly to The Hague. Along the way, we offer you a cup of coffee with a filled Dutch cookie (gevulde koek) on the coach. If possible, the coach will stop at a parking area so the coffee can be served.
Arrival at Madurodam
You will visit Madurodam at your own pace (without a guide).
"The park is surprising, active, and informative, an attractive attraction for young and old alike." Visitors appreciate the unique, creative, and nostalgic character of Madurodam. There are dozens of hands-on activities, and the fascinating stories behind the objects are told through modern communication tools. The heart of Madurodam, with its well-known characteristic miniatures, is divided into three areas: “water as friend and foe”, “old city centers”, and “the Netherlands as inspiration for the world” (architecture, innovations, entertainment, and design).
Young and old can engage in dozens of interactive activities, such as operating the scale model of the Oosterschelde Barrier, draining a polder, and loading and unloading ships in the Rotterdam harbor. Afterwards, enjoy the coffee table with a kroket at Madurodam.
Panorama Mesdag
The coach then takes you to Panorama Mesdag, where you will be guided by two guides. Have you ever stood on a high dune in Scheveningen and looked carefully around? You can see how the sea transitions into the dunes and then into the town. Hendrik Willem Mesdag, one of the most famous artists of the Hague School, captured this view of the sea, dunes, and the village of Scheveningen on a panoramic canvas, creating the largest painting in the Netherlands—120 meters long and 14 meters high.
Panorama Mesdag is the oldest panorama in the world preserved in its original location and is a unique cultural-historical monument. Because the canvas is circular, you do not stand in front of the painting but within it. Due to the optical illusion, you are immediately transported to Scheveningen in 1881.
Royal Tour of The Hague
Afterwards, you board the coach again for a Royal Tour of the Hofstad, guided along various palaces and government buildings. During this tour, you will get to know different facets of the city. The coach is equipped with a stocked bar (soft drinks).
