Hanseatic cities Deventer & Zwolle
Upon arrival in Deventer, a visit to the Deventer Koekwinkel (Deventer Cookie Shop) is planned. This historic building, dating from 1850, is not only a shop but also a coffee and tea room. After enjoying a cup of coffee and Deventer cake, a guided city walk is on the agenda. Deventer's city center boasts monumental buildings and is one of the five oldest cities in the Netherlands. During this guided city walk, you will see the historic town hall complex, the Etty Hillesum Centre, and other sights. After a delicious lunch, we will drive along a scenic route along the IJssel River to the Hanseatic city of Zwolle. Here, too, a guide will tell you about Zwolle and what it has to offer during a city walk. We will visit Sassenstraat, Zwolle's oldest street, where you can experience its rich history. The medieval city center, dating from the 15th century, features characteristic facades and a star-shaped canal. After this walk, we will conclude with a delicious three-course dinner.
